SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Seleukos I Nikator, 312-281 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 17.10 g, 10 h), Susa, circa 296/5-281. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ΣEΛEΥKOΥ Athena, brandishing spear overhead in her right hand and holding shield in her left, standing right in biga of elephants moving to right; above to right, spearhead; before elephants, monogram of MΩ. Kritt pl. 27, EL.22 (this coin, A6/P9). SC 177.2. A beautifully toned example struck on a very broad flan. Very fine.
